The Role
Do you have strong organisation skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced multifaceted role? We are seeking to appoint an Education Assistant to join our Education support team on a full time, permanent basis. Based in the School of History, Classics and Archaeology within the Armstrong Building at the heart of the Newcastle Unviersity campus, you will provide high quality administrative and professional support for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within designated disciplines.
Under the direction of the Education Coordinator you will be responsible for tasks associated with programme and assessment administration as well as student administrative support.
Education Assistants provide professional administrative services to ensure the smooth and effective running of the School’s taught programmes. Working as part of the Education Team, the postholder will help to deliver an excellent experience for our customers. You’ll work with students, academics, Professional Services colleagues, and other key stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities
- Respond to queries and requests from students and academics quickly and efficiently, signposting onwards where appropriate.
- Use University systems to provide, check and update student and education-related data and documentation.
- Support education and student-experience related activities, for example student induction and open days.
- Co-ordinate and provide administrative support for committees and meetings.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the school’s processes.
- Understand and implement relevant policies and procedures.

Qualifications
- GCSEs, or equivalent qualifications, including Maths and English at GCSE Level 7 are essential.
- 2 A-levels or equivalent qualifications/experience are desirable.
